Pripyat

Pripyat is an abandoned city in northern Ukraine, near the border with Belarus.
It was founded in 1970 to house workers from the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant and became a city in 1979. By April 1986, it had almost 50,000 residents. The entire population was evacuated on 27 April 1986, the day after the Chernobyl disaster.
